This would control everything for our purposes, including but not limited to:

- 2 step launch control
- VTEC adjustment
- Timing advance/retard
- Rev limit adjustment

Sucks at this point it's only for the cable cars. Not sure if anyone tried it on our cars though. Apparently there are some bugs though...

This thread is like a FEELER thread that will get no where. A mod should kill it or spark the fire. Hondata no longer say their plans ahead anymore and patience is key people. I know it's a very VERY low chance Hondata will ever make a tunable solution, but their best interests lies on the new TSX that has a V6 motor. If that route is what they have, and only option to get more customers because the production is going towards J35's V6, then we will start seeing most cars 2012+ this kind of motor. Hondata's chance at this device - 40%.

Its not good as the MS3 or Flashpro but it is working so far. He has been able to advance timing 2 degrees and the car will autotune it self to the correct AFR. FYI for NA guys only. Sorry boosters

^ Definitely. He is doing some great stuff over there, can't wait to see how it performs.
The only thing I wish it did was extend the rev limiter. Obviously that can't be done unless there was a reflash available or a standalone. But that's me just being anal.

Isn't it our car, not the motor, that makes this process so difficult? Meaning all the extra crap that is ran via the ecu?

Hah. Yeah, there were videos alright, but none really demonstrating things like the "stable" idle with large injectors and actual drivability. The MS3 that you get from J&R is a plain old MS3 ECU ordered right from B&G. NO MODIFICATIONS TO IT. All you're really paying for is a half-assed harness (I've seen several knock boxes not hooked up and about 80% of the people that I talk to don't even have VTEC wired up). The same can be mostly said for the "base tune" as well. Sure, the fuel trims, spark table and firing orders are sort of setup, but really, any decent tuner with a shop manual can do that for you in an afternoon. There are ZERO changes made to things like the after start enrichment and warmup tables. Probably the most critical items as far as drivability is concerned.

I really do have to laugh at the list though, and I can't believe that anyone is gullible enough to believe that putting your name on a list means anything to Hondata. What about every other lists that has been started here where 20+ people would sign up, but maybe 5 people actually PAID? What makes this any different? Hondata has been around the block enough to know where there is a paying market, and with the current 3G TL crowd, it's just not there. The group, as a whole, just doesn't have the technical knowledge that the other groups owners do, and I'm sure that they look at that as part of the deciding factor as well.

But I digress... yes, this was a major rant, but the points remain the same. Hondata likely could give two shits about the TL, and even if they did, maybe 1/10th of the list will actually buy it and, most importantly, it's been nearly a month now with 0 tangible updates which would lead us to think that this is anything except a gigantic hoax.

If hondata doesn't give us what we need we can all spend out money somewhere else. F hondata and their 4 banger love. Over at we already have something cooking I am pretty sure the guy can repin it for TL

The thing is though that the MS3 can do what we need, but we need someone else to create a true base tune for it. One where the idle maps have actually been tuned, the proper table scaling has been applied, and the hours and hours have been spent on a street tune so that you don't have to worry about things like surging idle, the car dying on you when you pull up to a light, endless CELs, and every other problem that people are seeing with them.

What really should have happened with the MS3 is that the schematics for the harness should have been published so that people could build their own hardware, and the money should have gone into more dyno and street tune hours. Obviously offer a service to assemble harnesses for those that weren't willing to do so, but when you make the schematics available, you gain the knowledge of others in the community and can get some of these ridiculous bugs worked out before they become as problematic as they have. With as many builds as have taken place for the J32, there is such a minuscule amount of useful information about them. You don't grow a successful community by keeping all of the info under wraps.

Too late to edit...

I mean, think about it... for most of us turbo guys, we're going to need to spend upwards of $800 - $1200 at the tuners to make sure the car is tuned properly. If I gave someone $300-$400 for a base tune, I could STILL probably save a couple hundred bucks of dyno time. Half of that time is spent just trying to figure out either why things like VTEC aren't working, or why the car idles like shit. That's a VIABLE BUSINESS in itself just creating an honest base tune that works. We really don't need Hondata to do that for us. What we really need is someone that can organize it, collect deposits so that the work can actually get done, and then reap the benefits.

I'm willing to donate some money for someone experienced to come up with a solid tune for J&R MS3 ECU. I have spent $600-$800 on dyno tuning and still needs more dyno time. Someone who knows our car and the knowledge to play with tunerstudio would be an excellent idea.
