What baffles me is that Racinghart was just starting the swap at 4:18 PM, and then at 4:44 PM on the same day, he was saying he lost bottom end and was going to be taking it back off. I mean I know he's an Acura tech, but still, how can one do the swap and then go out and really drive the thing to get a feel for it and report back, all in 26 minutes? Makes no sense to me. I also think he had overly high expectations, saying if it didn't blow his mind he'd be taking it back off. It's not going to blow anyone's mind, even if it yields 10-15 hp.

while it does add horsepower, you certainly wont feel it.

If they showed 15whp gains on my 3.0L Accord, what makes you think you won't see similar gains on a somewhat similarly modded Type S?

Justn, you are missing the point dont u think???

what am telling you is no matter how free flowing your exhaust is, if you have a super restrictive cat, it wont matter....

similarly with intake mods, you have bored TB/pnp manifold and runners....if your intake is restrictive, it wont matter, you wont see as much gains as you should be

Run 467 = RV6 V3 J pipe + AEM V2 = 13whp gain

The J pipe gains only on top and the AEM gains on all the RPM. The ecu is tuned ultra rich! 11.3 on the ''leanest'' run. Another 10whp would be gain if it was around 13.0. May be I'll fix this problem someday. Oh and the ecu was reset to see if it would give better gain on the J pipe but it did not, it was the same before and after the reset. First run of the day was at 08:10 and last one at 09:11. 27-29C was the temp, a very hot day today here.

Now let the madness begin.

thanks for helping out all the noobs, btw.
you're showing me what I already know!

I never claimed that adding an intake would hurt with my setup.
actually, in fact I do want to buy one.
butt, my point was that I was a little disappointed with the seat of the pants feel.

I read your statements of chirping 2nd and I felt your enthusiasm.
yes, this is why I bought your old set up.
I know it gains. I know how to make more power.
I just felt robbed when I could already chirp 2nd and you were so excited to be able to do that!! lol

Justn, you all off people should know that mods dont work the same way on different cars....you might not have some "supporting" mods that I do

I still say the same thing....but you also have to realize i installed PCD's and the pnp runners and manifold at the same time....so the gain i felt was off the roof !!!

with that being said, i might be selling my pnp SHAWD Manifold + runners + polished TB + intake setup, let me know if you are interested

can we please get an "official" j pipe thread where we can post numbers and pics (hp, coats, wraps, etc) and not 9 threads plus 5 jpipe sales threads. sorry to be off topic but i didnt want to make another jpipe thread stating this. im gonna keep goin since i already started... a single rasp thread stating peoples combinations of exhaust parts instead of a kajillion seperate exhaust combo threads that speak about rasp. no more "vs" threads and just single product reviews. no more "which pads should i get". And this one, are you serious?, "who makes j pipes and whats the power and price?" the internet does parasurfer1979, the internet.

Hey Swoosh, did you weigh the stock and TL-SHAWD manifolds? Just figuring some ways to drop more weight. Going off the original 3482 lbs number, I'm currently around 3375 with the spare removed. Gonna get a Braille battery and remove the 3rd cat heat shield when I swap j-pipes, so that should put me close to 3350.

Stock is 20lbs and sh awd is only 9lbs. When I get mine in, I will get the exact weight on my digital scale.

Quick question about a DIY 4" intake, is there a set-up where the breather hose can be connected like the stock intake or AEM intake? Do y'all use a breather filter on the valve cover? Also, where do y'all put the IAT sensor since the 2012 TL SH-AWD manifold does not have plug for it? I think Swoosh said he relocated it to his front bumper, but I'm not gonna splice my wires for that since I wanna keep everything close to stock. If those that have it can post (repost) their set-up that would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

Yes, I had the 2005 Manifold + TB + AEM CAI V1 which was insulated all the way and a filter....the new setup 2012 SHAWD Manifold + 2012 SHAWD TB + SRI + Filter weighed in at 17lbs lighter....

also I have the 11lb braille battery which replaced the stock battery and the battery holder/cradle....this setup was 30lbs lighter....

its somewhere around those figures...

well you can put the PCV if you would like....

I have my PCV capped off as in this thread...so instead of the filter, i have it capped off

My PCV was hooked into the tube on the AEM CAI, but Idk if it still is lol. It could just be hanging around to be honest, I don't really know. In terms of the IAT, my buddy drilled a hole in my AEM CAI and we threaded it in.

Trust me when I say this. THE 3.7 MANIFOLD/TB SETUP IS TOTALLY WORTH IT.

I know Im a day late, dollar short; but remember that thread. I think the problem was he kept his stock TB on which is smaller outlet than the 4G IM inlet. I'm glad threads like this proved him wrong. Thanks Sonnick!
