Talking 2005 TL did great at driving school this weekend

This weekend I attended a drivers edge event at Texas World Speedway.

Earlier this week I had my Tien Super Street suspension installed for the event!

The car handled great. I let a couple instructors drive it on the track (www.driversedge.net for the track)

I also have some great pictures!

I drove the car OK - but when the instructors drove the car - it was awesome. Of course it is not porsche or a little WRX, but moved around the track and around all the turns. When I was driving, I stayed up with the audi's and some of the other cars in my group. When my instructors drove the TL - they stayed up with everyone....hahaha - well, until the straight aways....

Between sessions, the TL got tons of attention. It was the only one there, but people were really excited about seeing it at the track.

And everyone that check it out, loved the inside, all the toys, and the look of the outside!

Have a great night!

And that would be racing responsibly. Are those numbers permanent?

Nope - they are magnets. My number is normally 25, but someone already had it by the time I registered for the event.

Awesome. I also attended an HPDE last weekend and had a blast. You get to learn so much about your car, and more importantly, yourself.

I don't know about you, but I'm hooked on road racing now.

short of audi s4, rs6, TT, i think the TL can easily "keep up" with audis. and by "keep up," i mean beat 'em.

Actually, I was all over the S4 and TT.

When the instructor drove my car, he left the S4's in the dust......

Coming from a former A4 owner - the TL handled better......although I do have suspension....the car just held the road a little better and excellerated better

Also, I can not believe they moved this post. This is general content and pictures. If more people when to driving school, we would all be safer on the roads.....

Why did they move this? Plus, people in the general forum would probably like to see the pics and learn about how the car handles.....

How about the Lotus, they'd take you in the corners but you'd leave 'em in the straights bigtime?

Absolutely! Racing done right.

Thanks for the pics. I should see if there's anything like that in the NY area.

that lotus was really fast - and because it was so fast in the corners, I could never catch up.... he is my buddy, and he stayed behind me to record me - but then he passed me and that is fast as hell!!!!!!

I am sooooo glad not to be all alone in this world. I also track my TL and I love it. This past weekend I was blowing by C5 Corvettes at VIR (Grand East Course - 4.2 miles), but it's not cars what you beat at a road couse, it's drivers. Our cars handle really well for a Family sedan, and yes, people love to see them at the track.

VIR is a nice track. I've always wanted to get out there and see how the TL does with no speed limit to worry about.

I was there with a group of NSX's (4) from NSX Prime and we all agreed to meet again sometime this year. Not sure what track yet. We are checking out HPDE's or Open Track events for August - November. Not sure what tracks yet. I've been wanting to hit The Glen (NY) , but it's 6.5 hrs from where I live and the event I want is a Tuesday !!! It would be really nice to have another TL arround. PM me and I'll keep ya posted.

Anyone do an HPDE with a stock TL? I'm thinking of doing one myself but wasn't planning on changing the suspension.

I've done 3 HPDE's and 1 open track event. I suggest you do at least 1 before changing anything.
