200,000 Mile Engine Maintenance done the right way
#46
Ill get videos posted when I get back home. Maintaining a respectable fuel economy we hit 300hp and 265ft tq at the fly. Looking at about 240/211 at the ground. with this dyno system. Not much more to swap power wise other than a CAI, larger intake and a few other things. Ill keep you posted on videos when I get a solid internet connection.

Runs smooth, need to increase exhaust flow a bit. It's nice to break the tires loose once in a while but still want a little more power. Want to increase velosity in the valve train with a head swap. New heads should be here Tuesday and are scheduled for a visit to the machine shop on Wed and then off to Acura for the head swap while I'm on vacation. Hopefully the current flash will work on it till the scheduled retune on 12Nov2015

Whats your current compression ratio? Will you be decking the new heads? I was thinking maybe the cams want some more compression to really come alive.

Do you have a graph you can post? I'd like to see the overall curve. Has the dyno shop given a typical baseline they see from a stock auto TL? It would be nice to see a gain comparison. Also, do you have any mods such as PCDs or J pipe that would let the motor breathe more?

Update 1001. We have been trying to sort out why my fuel economy has sucked in general. Apparently the person who sold me the heads and put them on failed to have them deck planed like they said they did. So I am running a stupid low compression ratio. This will be taken care of after the head swap. I also need to widen my air/fuel parameters as the wide bore TB is sucking in more air than the ECU is use to causing an "Air Intake Leak" code to be thrown. When the smaller OEM TB is on the code goes away.
Anyone have an aftermarket J-Pipe they are looking to sell?

Why yes, yes there are j35a8 heads are at the local machine shop getting new valves, seats and lapping as well as a .035" shave I'll update when they are done. On a more advanced note, the full ATLP exhaust (j-pipe to quads) has been bent ahead of schedule and will be on my doorstep this week. I'll post. Pics of that upgrade.
