3.7 Acura TL SH Intake Manifold!!!!
hey guys I'm having a little bit of a dilemma. I purchased the 3.7 throttle body and port and polished runners for my 07 acura tis. Does anyone know if i purchase the 3.7 TL SH manifold, if it will clear the hood?

No need to start a thread for this, but see my PM. You'll have more hood clearance than stock since the manifold is a bit shorter.

change the X to "V6 performance" with no space
For 1200 bucks, it better suck more than air...

Dude I PM'd you and answered in the 1st post....lol.
The dual TB setup will outflow the 3.7 setup without a doubt. Here is the price breakdown on the 3.7 setup if you do NO port matching/boring of the TB. (Keep in mind the Acura ZDX throttle body is ~$220 and basically identical AFAIK).
3.7 manifold - ~$ 360 shipped
3.7 throttle body - $387 shipped
Total - $750.
If you bore the TB, that's another $150 (Maxbore). If you port match, that's another $100. If you bought the ported runners like I did, that's another $150. Plus the misc parts you need, $50 or so. So with a port matched (to the runners) 3.7 manifold, polished runners, and bored TB you're looking at $1200 anyway.
I volunteered if anyone in the close NY area to me (Long Island) wanted to do a before/after dyno comparing the 3.7 manifold setup to the dual TB setup I'd do it. The swap should take 20 minutes and would be a great way to see how a full bolt on 3.0 reacts to the dual TB setup when compared to the 3.7 setup.

Who's Ryan and what does "everything" include?? That $535 seems like a steal for the manifold, TB, and all the misc parts....Can we get that same price from Ryan?

^ Yes, just tell him 3.slo sent you I forget his email. Kolg, if you have it post it here. Again, the ZDX throttle body is much cheaper though as found on K20a.org.
http://www.k20a.org/forum/showthread.php?t=103797
Kolg: Did you order the cover? No way you ordered the cover, TB & mani for $535 lol. Unless you ordered the ZDX throttle body (hopefully).
Fenda: The ZDX throttle body is supposed to be identical. The only difference I know is that I've been told you can bore the ZDX outlet to 74mm, while the TL throttle body can only be bored to 72-73. However, George @ Maxbore told me he bored mine to 72mm and tapered it to 75mm.

he can reuse his TL-S top cover since it has the crossover flaps built into the top half. So that would make since why it got it so cheap. Also I didn't realize that he already bought the stuff so sorry for posting stuff that when off in a tangent

So what are the exact differences in the ZDX vs. 3.7 TL throttle bodies? Besides the $167 price diff? Why would someone get the TL TB over the ZDX's? Just wondering, cuz $167 is a good chunk of change to save...

lol Holy price discrepancy is right!! Dang, that's crazy...the only real difference I see is the pattern of the bolts on the manifold...will that make a difference?

For 535$ I purchased the zdx throttle body and the 3.7 manifold plus the plate/ cover... Plus bolts/ misc. Ryan is a great guy and is very helpful. I'm thankful nick recommended him. He saved me a lot of money!!

How can we get in touch with Ryan? I'm definitely interested in going the same route...

I just hope I can get some power with this setup, and hopefully won't lose to much down low. Everyone keeps telling me I'm going to loose more power down low and won't be worth it. I def want to prove them wrong!

So just to clarify a few things, the ZDX throttle body with 2012 TL SH-AWD intake manifold and 3.5in or 4in intake *will* produce actual gains for a Base 3.2 engine? And will the 07-08 Base intake manifold cover fit the 2012 TL intake manifold?
If there are gains to be had, is it documented on a before/after dyno? I'm absolutely interested in this, just don't want to waste my money if it's not proven...I only ask because some have said it really doesn't add power...

^ Who said there are no gains? Check my graph below. Keep in mind my stock manifold was ported before the upgrade. Only differences are the 3.7 manifold/bored 3.7 TB/polished runners. Oh, and I left the butterfly valves in on the 3.7 manifold. Definite lost low end with them out between 2.5-4K. This is still on my AEM V1 CAI, which is 3in...smaller than the TB.

Good point, no clue though. I'm pretty sure the faster air travels, the more it speeds up. If that's true, I'd imagine the air would be 'cooler' in a 4" CAI rather than a 3". Would it be noticeable? I'm not sure. But if that's true, relocating the IAT to the intake piping may not be a bad idea, even for those on the stock manifold. Again, I'm not certain on this...

Just a quick confirmation, will the 07-08 base intake manifold cover and actuator bolt on to the 2012 TL SH-AWD intake manifold? If I can save $250 that'd be awesome...
Also, do I need the 2012 TL runners?

So other than not knowing the actual volume of these, it looks like they're pretty similar...

Considering the drastic price difference, I don't the see the TL TB as being worth the extra money. Especially when you can send the ZDX TB to Maxbore and get it ported for $105, and still be way ahead. Both TB's are running the same 3.7L engine. The TL is rated at 305 BHP, the ZDX at 300.
