Question XM Radio info display for Navi Models

I've noticed something kind of odd lately and was wondering if it was just me.

Normally up at that the top where the clock is (above the AC vents) and you see the radio display, the way XM info is shown has changed.

When you first put on an XM channel, it normally scrolls through the name of the channel, followed by the title and artist until it will usually just show either the preset of the XM channel or the channel name (like XM 81).

Now, it says -name- for a second and the name of the artist (or as much as it can display) remains up on that little screen.

Is this ONLY happening to me, or to everyone that still has XM?

Like I said - it started probably Friday of last week ... Remember, this is NOT on your navi display screen when you switch to 'audio' and the whole screen is filled with the XM info, but the little screen up top where the clock is ...

Thanks!

There is a way to change what is shown up there for XM (channel name, artist, song name). I can't remember what button you push to scroll through those options. Check the manual.

I checked mine on the way home from work last night to see if it was doing what you described and it wasn't. However, I am driving a 2006 and there are differences in the systems between '06 and '07-'08.

IIRC, the "Display Mode" button under the CD slot changes the XM info display next to the clock-- you can change the XM to stay on the channel, artist, song title, etc. I now have my display set to show the artist rather than the station, but periodically switch it around.

perhaps I hit that button by mistake and that's why it is happening. I will try toggling that when I get back in the car and see what happens - thanks for the suggestion!

Okay, I tried this out tonight on the way home and sure enough it does the trick. Just when I didn't think I could learn something new about my car.

THAT WAS IT! I hit the Disp/Mode button and I can change it to whatever I want - must have done it by accident one day.

Thanks!!!

That reminds me of the "No Phone" thread from back in the day! (unfortunately the pic of "NO PHONE" on the display isn't there anymore)
