Does anybody have trouble with there XM radio fading in and out and loss of signal? It happens to me where it fades out for a second when I go under bridges on the highway most times. I was next to manhetton the other day in union city and was loosing signal alot there.

It’s normal. XM is like AM when you go under a bridge it will cut out. Also if you in a down town area with really tall building you will loose signal.

Your car is picking up a satellite signal. Just like with the dish you might have outside for your TV, you need direct line of sight with the satellite to get a signal...

My XM fades out constantly. Anytime I am on the north side of a stand of mature Douglas fir trees I lose the signal. Of course those trees are usually over 100 feet high. It's a little annoying but I'm getting used to it.

The satellite is just above the southern horizon. Any time that is blocked, so too your XM. Your Navigation can confirm that.

I have heard they install repeaters in metro Cities, and I beleive them bcos I live in Jersey City, park my car in a 8 floor coverd parking garage, and my radio work all the way while I looking for a spot.

Open highways, I dont think they have the money to spend to install repeaters.
