what does "Satellite Radio Ready" mean?

I'm looking at used TLs and most of them say "Satellite Radio Ready". This could mean 2 things. Does it mean that I just need to activate it, or does it mean that I need to buy a special piece of hardware and install it so that radio has an xm tuner? If it's the second one, what's the typical cost and how invovled is it?

thanks in advance

If the TL's you're looking at are 04 or newer, XM satellite radio is built in. You will only have to activate the service.
