Talking What cord do I need to connect my IPOD touch to?

I just bought an 08 TL Type S and am not sure what connect my new ipod touch to? It has a small slot inside the armrest where a mp3 player can be connected? Will someone give me the answer I have been looking for all day? Is the part cheap and can I get it somewhere other than my Acura dealership? I want to make my ipod music sound just as good as the radio plays...thanks guys...I am new to this site.

If it is just like any other AUX jack then all you need is a double ended wire. The ends look like the end of headphones. You can probably get it cheap to. Welcome to the Boards!

don't think it has a name but it has a 3.5 mm standard headphone jack on each side. in radio shack it should be next to the ipod accessories, they sell it at pretty much any electronics store

Meaning it will fit inside the armrest where the mp3 connection is inside the vehicle right? Does it sound just as good as the radio?

better than radio, not as good as CD or DVD-A. you could do better by connecting it to the back of the radio, but this is by far the best cheap way of playing your Ipod. you are still playing mp3s so it will never be GREAT, but much better than the tape deck adapter.

try to find a longer one though so you can run the line out of the console and still have control over your music. it is a pain to always have to reach in there to change songs. you can keep your ipod on the cup holder cover or in the cup holder and have it right at your finger tips.

your acura dealership probably doesnt sell this, but i dont know. it should be no more than $5-$15 just depending where you buy from.

I got a very nice one at the local apple store that has a retractable coil in the middle, so it can be short or long enough to pass to the back seat without a messy bunch of wires around. Made by belkin. about 15-20 if I recall. Im very happy with the sound quality from the aux jack.

I purchased a 1/8" stereo miniplug to 1/8" stereo miniplug cable from Radio Shack the other day and for some reason, it will not fit into the auxiliary input. The diameter is fine, but the plug stops about 3/4ths of the way in. Is there a 1/8" miniplug with a smaller length that I'm supposed to be using?

What you need is an Auxiliary-Input cable. I'm partial to DLO products . (It's not a plug, just my opinion).

You will also need an iPod Auto Charger (the Aux-In cable will not charge your iPod). I'm actually selling one of these in the BM: https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/sold-f-s-ipod-accessories-389456/

(Yes, that was a plug)

What I have is an auxiliary input cable. I'm starting to think something is wrong with the aux input, it won't allow me to push the plug all the way in.

is it as long as a headphone jack? If yes, there may be something stuck inside the jack and a visit to the dealer may be needed.
