utilizing the nav routes

Not sure how everyone else feels, but I'm a little displeased with the nav routes. I wish there were options such as those on mapquest.com where you can choose fastest route and shortest distance route. Maybe there are but I havent really had the chance to play around and really get to know the system. Can anyone comment?

My 08 TL has a route option. Choices are something like: direct, easy, mostly freeways, less freeways, etc.

Hmmmm I'm at work right now but I want to say you can choose between fastest routne and shortest route.

And you have the option to minimize freeways, toll roads, etc. Give is a shot next time you input your route.

Yea, I've seen those, but does direct route = shortest route (distance wise)? Does fastest route = maximize freeways? I'm not sure if this is the case everytime.
