Used 2008 TL with XM and HFL Issues

Hello All! I am a new member of the TL family as of two days ago. Just found me a 2008 Silver TL (base model) and I love it. However, I am having some issue with the XM Radio and HandsFreeLink feature. I have researched alot and couldn't find anything to fix the issue myself. Everything else audio wise works perfectly with the car (CD, Tape, AM/FM, AUX) but the XM puts out no sound. It will display the channel information on the screen but no sound. I have had XM refresh the signal multiple times and still no luck, they have referred me to go back to the dealer (which is a little over an hour away and hard to fit in my schedule) so I am at least trying to fix the issue myself before having to go back. Also the Hands Free Link feature doesn't seem to work. When I press the talk button I hear no beeps whatsoever to set up or remove any prior phones that were setup. When I toggle through the info screen and select the Hands Free Link it says 'Booting' and never switches from that. Anyone had these sort of issues?

- HFL - it's a very known issue. Basically, HFL goes bad and drains battery all the time. Best "fix" is disconnecting it, and then using some other third-party system, that is most likely more advanced that old HFL.
There's a 25 (for now) page thread about this issue, some lawsuit going, and many alternatives like Kinivo BTC450, or USA Spec BT45, and others.
There is a chance that your HFL is disconnected already, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

- For XM radio, I never used the thing, so I don't really have an idea where to start. But then, if HFL is already disconnected, maybe the previous owner was messing with XM too (by installing one of those Bluetooth modules). Best bet is to wait for somebody else.

Thanks! I will definitely be removing the HFL module asap. Do you think that could be causing any issue with the XM having no sound?

Update: Checked and found out the HFL module had already been removed which was great. Still having issues with the XM. I found the module and made sure it was connected, and had XM send another refresh signal, still no sound. I then swapped the XM module out with another one, and it gave me the same thing: channel name-info, artist-song title, but no sound whatsoever. Also checked the fuse for the radio just to see if it was completely intact and it was. I'm stumped on this one.

HFL issue and question

My HFL starting working hit and miss so I'll check the module. Question though, if there are A/M modules that work and if so, do they work better in any way?
