USA Spec and engine noise??
I just got done installing my USA Spec PA11-HON12. I used the Y cable to keep my XM. I was real happy for a few minutes... XM sounded great, iPod sounded way better then through the tape adapter I was using. Then, I started my car and took a ride. I had some fairly loud engine noise creeping through. Pretty typical engine noise - frequency increasing with RPMs, whiny, noisy, annoying.
Anyone else had this same experience? I read all the related threads, and most everyone seems real happy with their new toy.
Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appricated. My fingers are torn up pretty bad from doing the install... it was all worth it, until I started the car!
Thanks.

I did a search and you have an '04 TL right?
I haven't seen problems with the PA11-HON2 and '04 TLs.
I would make sure that it is plugged in all the way. Have you tried using the USA Spec without the Y adapter cable? Just curious if its the USA Spec or the Y cable thats the culprit.

Yup, I have an '04 without Nav.
I'm dreading trying to get that darn connector out and back in again, but I'll give it a try to see if I can isolate between the adapter and the box. It's also possible that I didn't get the connector all the way into the back of the head unit. My big hands were really struggling back there, so when I felt it slide in and I got music, I was happy. I'll let you know my findings...
Thanks again.

When I first installed my PA11-HON2, the Y connector wasn't seated all the way in the head unit and it buzzed like crazy. When I finally got it seated correctly, the noise went away.
