Upgrade Navi?

Does anyone know if we are able to update our current navi system to the more advanced navi's in the future? For example, I have the 2004 TL - Could I pay Acura to upgrade me to the 2005 RL system or a future system? I would love to have some of the new features like the real-time traffic and other great future features.

Welcome to the forums... in theory you could upgrade the navi yourself - I looked into it a while ago, but the cost of the RL nav is far too much to even consider (few thousand).

In reality we can only hope that acura offers a software upgrade to the new nav system - if it is possible with our hardware configuration.

Sorry - not a lot to go on here. It is hard to "guess" what acura will do for us.

So far, Acura doesn't say a word about the upgrade yet. Neither does Alpine. IMHO, due to the specialty of this system and the prestigious arrangement Acura tries to give to RL, we prolly won’t see any plans or upgrade details until the late of ’05 or the year of ’06.
