Tweeter Crossovers/Stock junction box/Tweeter Wiring
Tweeter Crossovers/Stock junction box/Tweeter Wiring
Hello,
Im trying to install a pair of Rockford P1t-s tweeters in my 2006 TL, I have read that there is a junction box where the factory front channels split into the tweeter and front mid drivers behind the glove box but can't seem to find any photos or exact directions to access this box. Can anyone provide some? I plan to use the crossovers which come w my tweeters,.. do y'all think that it would be best to attach them inline style directly to the stock tweeter lines ( or to some leads which i will affix to the factory lines) from the tweeter holes or to run all new wires from the junction box? and also, if I were to run new wires, does the drivers side tweeter also go to this same junction box? Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I would like to preserve my factory tweeter wiring harnesses if possible, I know that you can use .1" 2 post PCB board to create a bridge but I can't seem to find any of those at any local store. Any other way? - && please don't just link me to Adobeman's post, I've already read it and it doesn't really answer my question haha.
Thank you!

don't use the factory output wiring at all for the tweeters. cut the oem tweeter line going to the tweeters and pop them out of the dash. solder a long length of wire to your new tweeters and drop the wire into the tweeter hole. fish the wire through to the floor and connect it to your crossover. the aftermarket tweeter just needs to fit into the oem hole or make a bracket for it.
Cut them at the factory amp. It's behind the passenger front right kick panel. Search the forum for a wiring diagram to know which to cut.
For the drivers side, I just ran a really long wire from the tweeter along the door, under the driver seat and center console, and plugged it into my crossovers located under the passenger seat.
