trunk tray issues

trunk tray issues

so i installed my trunk tray...really like it...however, now my subwoofer box wont stay in the back of the trunk and slides all around...when i open my trunk the box is always sitting in right in the front....i cant really put anything fragile in my trunk now because i am afried my heavy sub box will crush it if i brake hard.

what can i do to keep the box in the rear of the trunk?
any sugguestions?

Use the cargo net to hold the sub box back, or try non-slip pads/feet on the sub box.
Otherwise, perhaps tie the sub box to the trunk bulkhead?

get some big strips of heavy duty velcro maybe and put it on the box and tray. otherwise find a way to tie it back to the backside of the seat

I've always used those little benable brackets that always seem to come with aftermarket radios. Paint them black and use short screws on the trunk side. Most secure way. IMO.

I had the same problem, I just took my tray out.

I took my tray out but it was because of the amp rack mounted on the back seat. Haven't tried to see if it fits yet. Just chuck it.

I'm definately not chucking mine. When I know I'm going to throw something nasty in my trunk, I'll put it back in. I'll just have the back fold up in front of the speaker box.

If you don't need it, take the tray and sell it here! As far as the box goes, why not secure the underside of the tray to the floor with some velcro, and then the subs to the tray with some more velcro! That way it's all removeable and as well you won't need to drill any new holes!

What about using a small "L" bracket on the front Left and front Right of the box. Just screw it into the bottom and that thing shouldn't move forward at all

My box does have velcro on the bottom of it. It doesn't move at all now that the tray is out.
I didn't try velcro on the bottom of the tray itself, but I did think about it. The problem was the box would still slide back a little on the tray itself(the whole tray would slide as well though, and velcro would stop that at least).
I still might give this a try however, because I do miss having the tray in.
