Trunk Light will not turn off - what trips it to tell the car it shut????

Did you remove the little man inside the trunk? His main purpose is to turn the light off then you close the trunk....
JK man. The light actuator is in the latch. Try fiddling around with it and see if anything is loose.

he looks through the pass-thru from the cabin... or he is talking about the dashboard MID indicator.. so few details in the original post -
is the light on the dash board MID also lit up indicating the trunk is open? If so, your trunk pin needs to be replaced -- fairly common issue on Honda products for door/trunk pin's to fail..

Both the MID and the fact that at the time I had the seats out installing the new system. I ran leds and fans blah blah blah, but after removing the trunk lid linner and unpluging and pluging back in the switch it works fine so ....
