Treo 650 GSM - HFL issues
Is there anyone with the Treo 650 GSM (unlocked or Cingular) who has the following issues:
1. Pressing the "talk" button for call waiting transfers the call to the headset.
2. Unknown numbers report in HFL as the last known number.
3. No battery power or signal strength (this is a common problem).
The one nice thing about the Treo is that you can turn on or off Bluetooth at any time. SonyEricsson phones "lock" the phone to the HFL unless you specifically disconnect the device and then turn off Bluetooth.

I had a call waiting moment this morning with my ATTWS/Cingular Treo 650. When I answered the second call, the call was only in the handset and not on the HFL, though the interupted call was on the HFL. I am assuming this is what you meant in item 1 when you said "headset."
I haven't experienced number 2 yet and number 3 is known, as you mentioned.

#3 is not really a problem if it's not being displayed in the MID. if it's not displaying on the treo itself, then it's a problem.
here are my problems w/ HFL and Treo 650:
- can't use HFL to make a call. i have to use the treo to call someone and then use the "transfer" command
- if someone calls me and i answer with HFL, sometimes the connection between HFL and phone gets disconnected. i try to transfer it to the phone but it hangs up. right after it hangs up, they get paired again
i've already installed the patch, created/deleted the pair twice, and applied a soft reset on the treo, but no luck

Haven't seen #2, yes to #3.
I have a Cingular Treo 650 with Shadowmite's hacked BT driver (to enabled DUN). Also, the phone reboots once in a while.

I also get the rebooting. Sometimes, it just plain hangs up and this seems to happen when I start the car when the phone is plugged into the car charger. The red LED comes on and that's that. I have to hit the reset button at that point.
Transfer usually works for me, but there are times when transferring from HFL to handset where I can hear the other person in the earpiece, but they can't hear me. It's as if the phone's mute has been activated. Toggling mute doesn't fix it, either.

can you provide the link to that file?
is the hack reversible?
is there a software available that will let allow me to use my VoIP service through the BT DUN?
thx

Regarding reboot:
I find that if I'm connected via GPRS (as noted by the green <> arrows under the signal strength), a Bluetooth-initiated or transferred phone call will cause the Treo to reboot...

Yes, it is reversable.
Once you are connected via DUN you can run anything you want over it, though the performance is a bit spotty. I haven't tried Skype yet.
See the discussion boards at http://www.treocentral.com/ for a lot more.

I may just give up the fight with Cingular (no network switch, oddball GSM issues) and go with T-Mobile. I can get a Blackberry 7100t for $49 in Atlanta so may just do that as a "backup"...
