All,

My touchscreen was damaged recently. I removed the radio and all and the rest of the system is intact, the LCD screen works fine. All that is broken is the touchscreen overlay.anks

Does anyone know if I can buy just that? Its held on by four clips and has a little ribbon cable that sends the appropriate signals to the computer.

acura doesn't it sell it separately from the screen, look for a new screen on ebay, you can usually find them for around 200 dollars.

 

I was hoping I could somehow find the touchscreen only part from wherever it was actually made...bummer

 

Maybe if can find out the manufacture of it?

Like we know the DVD Rom in trunk is Alpine, maybe find out some how who made the head unit part and contact them direct.

It is dumb though. We talk about how wastfull the world is with stuff and being green now and than something like this. Nothing wrong but with one little part yet need to replace the entire unit... Thats such BS and pisses me off that places do that...

Anyway good luck, and keep us posted if you find out anything otherwise because I am sure you are not the first nor the last this will happen too.

 

Only thing I know is that the screen itself is made by toshiba...
