Those of you with tablets for navi and no backup cam
I'm about to install an a100 myself today and have been thinking about the loss of my backup cam. It's probably the only thing I'll miss.
We all know usb, blutooth or the internal camera with its tiny fragile ribbon cable wont work or will require to much customization and still probably will be flaky. Then I found this:

Its a bit pricey but the potential is there, yes?

There are definitely issues with the backup cams on android tablets.
I've seen some, you could use this to get the reverse trigger:
http://www.rcjoycon.com/base_3/menu_...m_board_idx=14
You'd also have to use tasker alongside it to get it to work.
And then other guys are using the easycap cam.
For the nexus 7 there's a modification to the kernel to get it to work here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/39717-ker...asycap-module/
And then I think guys are using USB-ROM here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/37755-timurs-kernel-usb-rom/
http://mehrvarz.github.io/nexus-7-usbrom/
That's just for the nexus 7 though, it's not going to work with the A100 tablet you've chosen.
The creator of USB-ROM also has dropped support for it, so for now it's stuck at android 4.2 unless someone else picks it up eventually.
Anytime you use the backup cam you're going to have to open it up on the tablet, but that wifi cam might work otherwise.
I think they got the easycap kernel patch to work with Timur's USB-ROM, but I can't verify that I haven't read through the whole thread but I know they were having some issues.

I don't mind having to click on a widget to open the rear cam on the a100. I don't tend to use it 100% of the time when backing up anyways, just occasionally.
I was thinking for tasker of the top of my head:
1. click backup cam app
2. wait
3. kill tether
4. connect to backup cam wifi
5. backup cam app exit (killed)
6. kill backup cam wifi
7. restart tether

Might have to do something like that or you can tether over bluetooth for your internet connection, possibly USB but that'd be a bit more involved with the way you install it and the cable that you use.
I'd test out the setup before installing it in the car to make sure everything works.
Bluetooth tethering would be a bit slower though for the internet speed & not sure if the A100 has bluetooth or not?
