To those who have taken the aluminum trim off the center console..

I am having a hard time removing the aluminum trip that flanks the left and right sides of the center console (in order to access the headunit and remove it -- I want to directly connect my mp3 player to my headunit).

I can get most of the aluminum trim off no problem except when I get to the top part by the center vents... it seems stuck... the other clips were pretty easily removed... these ones are pretty hard to get out and i'm afraid of ruining the aluminum trim (It costs $100 per side to replace each trim piece!!!)

Any help would be appreciated.

They are EXTREMELY difficult to get out at the top (as you have figured out). I got mine off with a LOT of force and the use of a plastic putty knife from home depot (i dont have the trim removal pieces from acura)

Do you already have a diagram of exactly where the clips are? That may help you a little bit.

http://www.html wait a while for all the pics to load... at the very bottom - I think three or four images up you will see a diagram from the service manual and it shows where the clips are and what design they are so you can get it off a little easier.

Better yet here...
