Testing Car Amp

My Acura has had issues with volume. It fluctuates from barely audible to passable on max volume. I'm thinking it's an issue with the amp since the subwoofer doesn't seem to be working either and I tested the front speakers and they're working fine. Is there any way to test the amp to see if it's functioning properly?

I went to an electronics dealer near me and he wanted 75 to test the system then quoted me 899 for a new amp if that was indeed the problem. Figured I can properly do it myself for much cheaper with your guys' help. Thanks!

Holy cow, for 899 you almost could get an amp, and speakers all around with a sub
