I bought my TL '05, 3 weeks ago, absolutely love it, and have been drooling over the car since it was announced in '04.

I currently have a T637, and it has NO connection issues whatsoever.

My question is for those that may have tried a T637 & v551 & Treo 650.

I am aware of the MID display issues with the v551 & Treo. From reading the forum it doesn't appear the v551 or the Treo have connectivity issues, so my interest is solely with sound quality.

I have read that some were happier with the v551 over the T637, however that seemed to revolve around the actual ringing sound.

Ideally, I want a Treo 650 since I have some Tom Tom GPS software that I used before my TL, and reduce what I carry around with me.

Can anyone comment on the sound quality of the Treo 650, on its own, or in comparison to the T637?

Was there a difference in the backround noise heard at the other end of your call, with any of these phones compared to a T637?
(I'm fairly sure there isn't as this is mostly a result of the mic in the car rather than
the bluetooth connection)

Any and all feedback would be appreciated....

I picked my car up Saturday and have had no problems with the Treo 650. Outside of the obvious lack of signal/batt display problems, and the occassional misstep between the system and the phone, the actual quality of hte calls is superb. I first found myself shouting a bit as a precaution for the system, but found as time went on that just speaking normally gives a pretty great sound quality on both ends. I also have a V3 Razr which I am going to pair tonight and see how that is.

I have the Treo 650 and it works great. My wife has the v551 and it has been paired, too, but I don't think I've used it yet. The TL is primarily my car, so she hasn't been in it enough to use her phone via the HFL.

The only background noise audible to the other end of the call is road/wind/engine noise while at freeway speeds. Even then, it's not objectionable. I was once talking to my dad and I needed to get on the gas hard to merge without getting pinched by a couple of trucks. He said, "What was that?!" because he heard the engine rev hard. Other than that, no one's ever commented on the background noise.

v551 - TL BT connection fine, MID fine (no battery), sound excellent other than being told of hearing "rushing wind noise" that stops when I stop the car.

Only issue is A LOT of static chirp noise from the V551 to ANY unshielded speakers, including TL speakers, office speaker phone, computer speakers, conference room large speaker phone (a little embarassing in the middle of a meeting with 10 people), etc.
