Subwoofer not working on '05 TL
Subwoofer not working on '05 TL
I bought my '05 TL with 157k on the clock this summer. Immediately I noticed the fact that the stock sub-woofer was not making any sound whatsoever. I checked the audio settings, and whether it was on full blast or off, nothing made a difference in the sound. Can anyone suggest any ideas to fix this? I have pretty much nonexistant electrical experience but have a family friend who's pretty good with electronics. I checked above the trunk liner, and it hasn't been removed, it is really just not making any sound.
You may have a car that someone previously had an aftermarket sub in. Pull off the pass side kick panel and check the wiring to the amp. There are two plugs. The back plug is the input. Most people clip two wires in that harness to pull signal for their aftermarket amp. It will be the red wire with blue stripe and a white wire with a green stripe if I remember correctly.
Also check to make sure the sub is plugged in. Others will pull a sub signal after the factory amp also. So the plug may be pulled, or the wires clipped before the sub.
