FM Modulation is crap! you wont be satisfied. Get a aux jack installed like Isimple, then run the BB gateway when its on sale for 45 bucks.

As long as the sounds quality is good (I'm not an audiophile so I don't need super amazing sound quality) I will be happy. I am getting so fucking tired of burning a new cd every few days lol.
I'm not going to spend 2.5x as much money to get the isimple and BB Gateway, not to mention I don't want to install that thing.
TunelinkAuto or new potato one is 99 on the link provided in this thread...but i guess u found a cheaper one. The BB Gateway is 130 right now on amazon but it always drops down to aprox 45 bucks-50 every now and then. Not sure why this is. so you COULD wait...but since you don't have AUX new potato might be your best option. I don't know if i would want to spend that much money and tune through FM, i remember all the other tuners i've used in the past through FM weren't great sound quality wise. Has anyone here used it?
I have also used several other FM transmitters in the past which I admit were all pretty bad (the last one I used was about 5 years ago), but people that reviewed this one said they also have used a bunch of FM transmitters in the past and those don't even compare to this one. So I am keeping my hopes up and hope it works great. (plus the fact that this has a cord to charge the phone is also a bonus because I don't have a car charger).

Ok well I went ahead and tested the New Potato Tunelink (the FM Transmitter, not the aux).
I tried several different FM stations including the ones the app told me were best. The quality is just like any other FM transmitter out there. It is ok at best. There is plenty of static and loss of signal whether it be standing still or driving through different areas.
After listening to this for a while I switched to one of my CDs and the sound quality is night and day. My Griffin iTrip from 8 years ago works just as 'good' as this.
I'm returning it today.

iSimple is the way to go for us 04-06s I have to invest time into that setup though, PIA.
In order to use the BB gateway it has to plug into an aux port. On the 06 TLs they do not have an aux port built in. That's where the iSimple installation come into play.
People do use the aux tape adapter but I doubt you can use that with the gateway.
I had tried something different than this, I believe it was posted on the first page; the tunelink potato thing.
It SUCKED! >_< It was wirelessly streaming the music via FM transmitter, I would have loved to use the aux port but I too have 06 TL. The music was 75% clear, static was audible.

So can anybody recommend a solution for audio playback without the need for an AUX input ('04-06 or w/o iSimple)? I'm currently using the Motorola T505 for A2DP streaming and it works good over FM (it's actually really clear audio) but I hate the fact that I can't use two Bluetooth devices at once so I'm either always using the T505, or always using the HFL. It's kind of a pain in the butt to switch over, so I'm looking for a better solution.

Man, I can't find the Blackberry one anywhere Thought I snagged one for $69 but then got an email that the order was cancelled b/c they don't make it anymore.
There's a couple on Ebay but you'll probably pay $75-80 for it. At that price, might as well get the iSimple installed.

My '06 w/NAVI came with iSimple installed and the interface cable is in the glovebox. I don't have an iPod though and I'd like to connect my Droid phone via its 3.5MM port. What's my best option for getting an AUX port or a cable that will connect it to the iSimple cable?
Thanks

Guys, i found a website that sells it for 58 bucks...it also comes with the wall charger mini USB(not good for car i know, but it does come with it) You would still have to buy a mini USB charger for your car but if you have blackberry or any of the semi-old android phones that still had MINI instead of MICRO USB u might not need to.
This was my problem so i didn't get it, i'm thinking about buying it, but for 58 bucks you would think it would have a digital output instead of analog. blah can't believe this is the best solution for this issue. 60bucks to stream music from your phone to car! Not HORRIBLE...
http://shop.crackberry.com/blackberr...9A172A3579.htm
Just couple of things, i've never used this website to buy anything so byer berware. Make sure you can return it if it's damaged etc. Also the Blackberry warrenty will not apply (i heard it only applies if you buy it from them directly. WEIRD i know)

I actually went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Kanex AIRBLUE...i'll let you guys know how that goes! It comes with the mini USB charger! so i'm game! let's see how it is

So i bought the AIRBLUE! and it's working out great...it's WAY cheaper then the gateway(only 27 bucks) and it fits perfectly. The only draw back is that i have to hold the button for 4 seconds in order for it to come on. But it works fine with my HFL (turns off music when i get a call etc)
So if you don't want to spend 50-60 bucks to stream music and you have an AUX port in ur center console and you don't mind turning it on, then this is the one for you! If automatic connectivity is important and you don't mind spending 20-30 more then gateway is for you.
Just my 2 cents

I'm ordering one of these or something similar SOON.
Has anyone tried any of the alternatives? I know that you have to push the button on the Belkin every time, so it's out.
Monoprice has a unit and the reviews on it are really good. Not to mention, it's only $20. All the cables I've gotten and seen from them are nice, I may try this one and report back.

Just bit the bullet and bought a BB Gateway off eBay for $60 shipped. I read a bunch of the Monoprice reviews and it looks like that device will work well, but may not autoconnect. Good luck to everyone still hunting - keep posting ideas for solutions!

Would you please let us know where you found these cables? I found a variety of video and USB cables with ferrite cores, but didn't see 3.5mm audio cables on Monoprice. Thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

You buy a 12V adapter to USB (car charger cord) and plug it into the 12V adapter in your center console then get a male-to-male 2.5mm jack to connect the device to the jack in the center console.
If you don't have the adapter and the jack connector in your center console, this solution isn't for you.

Even I am looking for the BlackBerry Remote Stereo Bluetooth Gateway for my 08 TL.
I have the AUX cable with me but not sure, what type of power cable I need to get. Please suggest me one (with a link would be very helpful).

Hey all, first post here ... just got my TL-S two weeks ago. I've been lurking on the forums and not posting. I am interested in trying to connect my android phone to my navi, but I dont think I've got a aux in the center console. I've got the iPod hook up. Is there a way to get around this without having to take the iPhone dock out? Would be nice to keep it bluetooth... but if I need to get a 3.5mm and an adapter for the dock for this to work... I suppose that will suffice.
What are my options?
Thanks to all in advance

Ditto... I would also be interested to make sure that it also auto-pairs and if you can still run the cars phone HFL in parallel. I remember reading that someone stated that the HFL still worked when playing music ... that the music paused to take the call.

I have the Belkin CarAudio Connect AUX with Bluetooth and it works fine. Yes you have to manually connect it when starting the car (one press of the button), but that's a minor thing. I love the hands free for streaming music from my Android, being able to play Pandora, and having hands free phone conversations. The audio is actually very good - no hiss or background noise like others have mentioned. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.
