Stock replacement stereo.... lost code... I think I'm in trouble.

I replaced my stock radio with another stock one which came with the radio codes. I put the little sticker in my wallet. I replaced the battery today and when I pulled the sticker out of my wallet, the last two digits were missing. I guessed at the code.... 10 times to be exact. Now I can't enter anymore information, it just says error.

I have the battery disconnected right now, getting ready to hook it up and see if it lets me input the code again. Going to call the place I bought it from and see if they keep any records. I really hope I'm not SOL on this new radio.

Anyone ever have this situation before??? I'm so mad, I can't even show it right now.

Unfortunately not anymore since this is not the original radio that came in the car. It's not linked to my car in the database even though it's a factory radio.

FWIW, disconnecting the battery gave me 10 more tries. This time instead of trying to read the card, I figured with 10 guesses and only 5 buttons going in numerical order should work and it did. I have my radio back. I was about to buy an iPod.

Wow, that's good to know. I didn't think Acura would have a list of all radios sold. Good to know for next time. Thanks.

Excellent! Wow. Why did I not think of this. I just wrote it down and have lost it a few times only to freak out and find it again.

did you replace the entire head unit or just the radio? Because my cd player is broken, and if its just your radio that went out, I could sure use that cd player

That's funny. I was driving down the street today and realized I have the code memorized now by accident.

The CD player went out first and then the radio. I could ship it to you as a core if that would help but I'm so far behind on shipping right now. I have several items to others that are 2 weeks late. Just too many hours at work over the past few weeks. You can find the HU for $300 shipped brand new in the Acura wrapping. It sure beats the $1,200+ from Acura.

It was worth a shot.

Hate to hijack the thread, but would this work
http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-05-06-ACU...item1c211a4f5a

its from a non-navi, but same model year.

^^^ I would rather check on Azine....I know a lot of people might be selling this on BM....

if you plan to get it from ebay, make sure you email the seller and see if he has the radio codes

I'm pretty sure you can't use a non navi HU with navi. I can post a link to the place I bought mine from. You have to get one with the matching 3 digit code on the tape door.

Couldn't I just swap the CD player and keep my radio with my code?

You sure? I've never heard this before. I just finished my Navi conversion and the radio seems to work okay. I say seems, because once I plugged everything in, I had the 'check disk' message on the navi screen (which I hear can happen to these units).

If you have any info about this I'd love to have it!

I used my 2007 HU with a 2008 TLs navi.

Also, do people really steal these HUs? Where and how could they use them? Seems like a lot of trouble to destroy someone's dash to get this HU.
