siemens sx66

I wanted to know if anyone seen this phone and knows if it will be compatible with the TL, it says it has bluetooth, but I am not sure if the HFL will work. Any help would be appreciated.

Siemens SX66

The maker of the SX66 HTC corp has a problem with the Bluetooth on that platform. It is called the Tmate PDA2K, & sold under several names . They should have a fix we hope in about 1 month. They have had a lot of comlaints about the bluetooth & they say they are working around the clock to fix it. When you pair the SX66 you will not be able to make outgoing phone calls on the HFL but you will be able to receive them thru the HFL. After you pair the phone it will not show anIcon on the screen of the car. When you try to make a call you get the error message no service found even though there is service. Until HTC fixes the Bluetooth none of their phones will properly work. I am amazed how a company can bring a product to market with the Bluetooth problems they had & have taking this long & still no fix.

SX66 & IMate PDA2K

This is the only way to make outgoing calls with these 2 phones . After pairing the phones you will not see any info on the car screen. You cannot use the CAR Phonebook. Make sure your phone is in the Bluetooth mode. Use the phones phonebook to make a call. Immediatly touch the HEADSET ICON on the phone & check use the HANDS FREE LINK. This will connect your phone to the HFL & you are in buissiness.I just tried it with my PDA2K & got it to work everytime This is a minor inconvience until HTC comes out with a fix. This is also a possible solution to the HP6315.One thing to remember put the HFL in service for the SX66 & the IMate PDA2K before making a call. Rember safty first. Experiment with this solution & be wise about using this solution

This will be just like any other pocket pc with the exception of the i-mate as posted earlier. It will not work because the bluetooth is software driven.

Mobilezen, your a big help with these issues, Thank you in advance. I apologize if I'm a little slow but you said with the exception of the i-mate? Is the i-mate a fix for the phone that you need to become a member. What exactly are you pertaining too. I'm sorry to be such a hassle.

go to imate.com and look at one of the first posts in this subforum. You'll see. I'm a bit exhausted from running back and forth to the dealer to test out HFL. Not only that, I'll be selling my Accord soon and leaving the Honda/Acura family for good (most likely). I'll still be around though. I don't hate on anyone for their preference of cars.

Back to the topic on hand, this is the roughest time for all PDA/Phone owners who want their phone to work with their HFL. Even Lexus, BMW, and fellow Acura owners have been emailing me about their problems. I have been working VERY CLOSELY with another member of the BMW forums and getting in contact with BMW, Acura, Lexus, Sony Ericsson and Motorola so far. It is very hectic and I hope that these companies figure out something so I stop getting the same emails every couple hours. jk. Next year will be very promising for the mobile industry. We will see Cingular roll out some cool stuff with 3G handsets and the near perfection for bluetooth. Until then, just gotta be patient. If anyone has more news or info, please post it!

I have a Sony Ericsson K700i for sale w/ 1 year warranty.... Its being shipped to me. If it doesnt' sell, I'll just keep it as my backup phone.

If you really want something to happen with the HFL, get the i-mate but you'll also be spending almost 9 bills for it.

K700i - $375 shipped ...plus it'll work with HFL.

Pocket PC won't work because the bluetooth is software driven.

But the capabilities and the looks are no where near the SX66, do you agree?

Agreed only because they are 2 completely different devices. one is a phone. The other is a PDA with a built in phone.

Acura HFL

I am sorry to say even with the fix by HTC the PDA2K & the SX66 will never work with the Acura HFL. I purchased the Parrot CK3100 & having it installed today with a remote starter. At least with the Parrot it will work with your phone in your pocket or briefcase.. I know it is extra money to spend 215 w/o install $325 install & no more screwing around. Then just about any bt phone will work with a much better system.

Red face

There is now a patch on Siemens website at: http://communications.siemens.com/cd...rNrNrN,00.html

I downloaded it, paired my Siemens SX 66 with my TL and it is working fine so far (although I have not tested all of the functions - made and received a few phone calls).

How did you go about the pairing process maybe I have something set wrong on my SX66. Can you help???
