Short Supply of 5.1 DVD Audio

I have been looking for 5.1 DVD audio disks. The seem to be few and far between. On Amazon they can be $70 or more for used disks. I have managed to acquire three or four.

First, is there a better source for 5.1 DVD audio discs?

Second will the system play the sound track from a video DVD thereby allowing use to play the concert DVD? I am reluctant to just try a video disk for fear it will disappear into the player and not want to come out. I have had that happen with CD-Rs in other players.

TIA

Jim

Well I tried a concert video DVD and the player spit it out. So those aren't available.

rimz list is helpful but even cduniverse only has 250 titles, many of which are classical.

I guess the surround is a nice feaure just not much software to support it.

Well I'll throw my .02 cents in: if you search around this forum you'll find how instructions on how to make your own DVD-Audio compatible discs. Also there's a decent newsgroup forum for DTS Audio. But yeah, the format didn't thrive like it should have.

You can burn songs onto a DVD-A, but the sound quality will remain CD quality. For true DVD-Audio sound quality, you need to buy a DVD-Audio disc.
