Remote start/alarm installers in Boston area?

I dont think I'm going to attempt to install a manual transmission remote start alarm myself (i.e. Compustar), so I was wondering if anyone knew a shop in the Boston area that has some experience installing in the Acuras. I also wanted a shop that would bury the alarm brain instead of just velcroing it in plain sight just under the dash. I'm so sick of shops doing crappy installs. After one install in a previous vehicle I was able to disarm my alarm within 15 seconds.

So basically I'm looking for a good installer in Boston from a customer that has checked their work.

I would think $400 would be a reasonable price, wouldn't you?

no.. $400 is a bit low for low end system..
i am getting a viper mid range system for just over $1k...

i have seen to many people go to best buy or other shops and have the worst installs, isues etc..

richies will warrenty it so you just go back and they pull parts off their shelves for you no questions

1k def seems high to me. Is it basically due to all the extra things a luxury car has such as the factory alarm, auto roll down windows, trunk pop, etc.. ?

the good starters all costs a few bucks by itself, install and support..

so its a good starter and u do need a good starter to work correctly with all the , install is going to be done correct and right, no need to worry about sloppy installs. if an issue does come up, they will replace it with parts off the shelf for as long as you own the car.. and yes the car does have more features and the system should integrate with the current alarm etc..

Bovoian, thanks for the information. I will have to do some more research on what the TL actually needs for complete integration.

Acura911: I wasn't referring to the alarm cost, I was really referring to the installation costs. I know you can pickup alarms cheap on ebay but its really all about the install, not the alarm.

ok but if you get the alarm for 250 it's not that much for the install maybe 150.

Well thats why I was thinking 400 total if I went directly to a place. I think the TL also needs a bypass box for the immoblizer. I also think the 1k price quoted above is for a stealth install, not just a wiretap job which would be easy for someone to bypass but most dealers install.

DEI makes the bypass box, it can be had for less than $35. Its easy to install, only tap wires, and the good part is that there is only 6 of them...

ubnpast: Thanks for letting me know. I was looking into the compustar possible for the remote start ability on a manual transmisson setup.

Just to go a little off topic... I have wired up amps, caps and built some small circuit projects at home. I wonder if I am capable with the acura wiring documentation to just do this myself. Then I would know the job was done right, wires were loomed/hidden.. I just didnt want to get in over my head. Any first time alarm installers here? Should I just forget it and bring it to a professional?

Its not really hard at all. The hardest part to tell you the truth is actually trying to hide the wires/relays, thats all. You can always wrap up the wires real tight with electrical tape, and just tape it to the exist wires. It is really easy. I can give you a website for a location of where all the wires are and what color they are, just PM me.
