Remote start on '06 TL automatic

Can I use the Viper 5706V along with the PKH34 for remote start only?
I don't need the siren/door features that Viper has to offer, possibly the shock sensor but only thru the 2-way remote alert system, not the siren. I'd like to keep the factory remote too for door lock/unlock/trunk. Also I don't need the parking lights to come on when the car is started using the Viper remote. Do I still need the XK1 module? I'm kind of hoping I don't.

The PKH34 will bypass the factory immobilizer allowing the vehicle to be remote started. I don't quite understand why you'd want to keep the factory remote control, as the 5706V has excellent range and features. If you were to use the DBALL2, it makes for an easy installation for all the features and functions of the 5706V.

i agree with chief. if you are installing a 5706v only for remote start you might as well just get a cheaper basic remote start system. just doesnt make sense to get a higher end model and not use it to its full capability.

also again, agreeing with chief, the dball2 will make it very easy to install and you wont have to go into the driver door module for your door locks and factory alarm integration.

you have to wire the factory alarm either way so alarm doesn't go off when you remote start so i would use dball2 or a idatalink bypass saves you from having to wire the door locks in the door and it does the trunk aswell i think

Thank you for your answer gentlemen. I purchased the viper alarm along with the pkh34 for $189 last summer but I never got around to install it. Now when it's 10 degrees outside, I'm thinking it should be on the car not in the closet. I will install it myself.

Factory alarm going off while remote starting is what I was afraid of and most likely the fuel pump is cut off when factory alarm is armed. I'm gonna try to make it work with what I already have. Thank you for your opinion again!

One more question or two, since you seem to have a remote start already installed... how does the memory setting for the first and second driver work when you have the viper remote only? Do you have to press the driver 2 button on the door to recall driver 2 settings and it's set to driver 1 by default each time you unlock or the LEDs on the door are completely off?

If the neither of the LEDs 1 or 2 are on before arming it with the viper remote. Which LED comes on when you disarm it?

If you have multiple drivers of the car, then you can use one of the auxiliary outputs to from the 5706V to trigger the seat memory for that particular driver. You can even channel link it through the system settings and remote programming of the Viper system.

Seat Position 1: Blue/Yellow (-)
Seat Position 2: Yellow/Red (-)
Green plug at the power window master switch

Factory Alarm Disarm: White (-)
Factory Alarm Rearm: White/Red (-)
Green plug at the power window master switch

Since you going to have to go into the driver's door for the factory alarm wires, you might as well run a couple extra wires to disarm and rearm the factory alarm.

Those of you who have not purchased remote start.. I have a compustar with 1 mile range 2 way remote. Love it on my TL 06 MT.
