Lightbulb Remote Engine Starter on TLS?

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to let you all know that I still have my 07 TL-S. Didn't went to a mini-van, and haven't get my car tinted.

Bought some retractable sunshade for the read windshield, and also rear side window. Expecting to get those and install them.

They would look close to what RL has.

Now, aside of those to keep the sun away from my newborn.

I've started to think about getting remote engine starter to cool off inside the car. Thought about OEM, but couldn't found anything on Acurazine.

All I've seen was it's made for RDX and MDX, and the newer ugly TL (4G). Also, found a lot of Viper, too expensive and has too many bell & whistle that I don't think I'll need them.

So, I'm leaning toward Avital 4113LX, but don't know what it's needed for my 07 TL-S.

I was wondering who has installed it, and could share your experience?

Thanks in advance

i have an avital remote starter on my 07 tl-s. i had it installed by a mobile installer for $200 and that included the unit itself/2 key fobs.

works like a charm. fairly good range. does what it's supposed to do. these are pretty basic remote starters so don't expect a lot from it.

what will it do? it'll start your car and shut off your car. that's it.

i love installing things myself on my car, but i didn't want to tackle this job and for $200 total i couldn't say no.

Not exactly on topic, but if you're looking for heat reduction, I can't say enough good things about Huper Optik tints. Yep, they are expensive but over the life of the car they are cheap for what they do. I never cease to be amazed at how much heat they keep out of the car.

And I have a Clifford Matrix (same as Viper/Python) and can vouch for it. Rock solid and great range if you change your mind.

I am new to the forum, but figured I would provide my input. I have installed many remote starts. One key thing to remember, they are like any other major electronic, you pay for what you get. With that being said, a 'relatively' inexpensive brand would be anything made by Directed Electronics (Avital, viper) or Audiovox are good. Compustar is good also. The Avital would be best recommendation as your keyfob has the integrated lock/unlock with the switchblade key therefore you will not be replaceing any remote. So the one-button Avital will suit your needs quite well.

and yes, unless you are experienced please pay to have it done. Hope this helps.

I don't know about Avital but I use compustar on my 3 cars and I would'nt go with anything else, it has a very long range of pager distance if someone touching the car, remote starter, remote oem trunk opening etc...

I also have the CompuStar 2-Way remote. The last three cars had a new one installed professionally. I lost the factory key with the free roll down windows, but to replace that with an LCD Screen with 2-Way communication...Well worth it IMO

Does anyone else have any good experiences or with other 2-Way Remote Starters?

I've been using CompuStar products for over 12 years now. I recently had the RF-2W901-SS installed. Great product. Small and light with great range. I've installed a few remote starts in the past, and have had Perfectionist install a few. Either way, they make the winter livable up here.

2 Canadians, and an Alaskan vote Compustar. This = Compustar winner.

I have one too, but I'm from Kansas, so I that kills my point, but yeah...the Compustar stuff is super nice.
