Are you replacing the amp as well? If not, bear in mind that the stock speakers in the TL are 2ohm. If you have 4ohm speakers they will likely sound quite a bit quieter. They are not 6X9. 6.25 is correct, same size as the door speakers. What about the sub? If you're replacing that, also remember that it's an 8" free air sub, meaning putting in a different type will mean customizing a box for it (if it's in the stock location.)

This should answer a lot of your questions, it's a link to the FAQ's. You should have looked there first I guess.

According to a post from mancur, this is what you're dealing with.

Front Door & Rear Speakers
------------------------
Size: 6 1/4"
Impedance: 2 ohms
Rating: 20W
Mounting depth: 2 1/8"

Center speaker
------------------
Size: 3 1/2"
Impedance: 4 ohms
Rating: 15W

Subwoofer
-------------
Size: 8"
Impedance: 2 ohms
Rating: 40W

Tweeters
-----------
Size: 1"
Impedance: 4 (6?) ohms

Most of us don't run rears because they take away from the front stage. The money is better spent on a better front stage. It's also very easy to run 8" or 9" speakers in the front doors which dramatically improves midbass and overall sound quality.

If anything I would have put the 6x9s in the doors and the 6.5s in the rear. Those Hertz are decent speakers at least. With the 9s in the doors I can literally turn the subs off and have much better bass than the factory sub will put out.

What's the goal with this system?

What brand of 8" inch speaker would you suggest? And what amp should I use with them?
