PXAMG Peripheral iSimple and 3g Iphone

Has anyone had issues using their 3g iphone with the iSimple unit? After an hour install behind the dash (first attempt was in the trunk but that didnt work because i dont have navi in my TL), everything is hooked up properly but when i plug my 3g iphone into the unit it still says no ipod connected.

At first it would connect and work and cut off in about 10 seconds then say no ipod connected and wouldnt work. Now it doesnt work at all in Ipod mode but works fine in AUX1 mode. Is there an issue with the 3g iphone?

My gf has a first generation ipod touch and hers doesnt work either, it says no ipod connected but when in AUX1 mode it works.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an 05 SSM TL if that helps.

OK so I'm no expert on the iSimple and have yet to get mine working because of NavTraffic that I had no idea I had. Anyway, I'm told that the dip switches should normally all be set to off but if you set them another way the signal will come in on the AUX input. With it set up that way you control everything from the iPhone and you don't get text on the screen. Again, I'm no expert, just what I have read elsewhere here.

since your girl has a 1g touch, that eliminates your 3g iphone (the 3g iphone, the new touch, and the 4g nanos all don't charge cause they changed the pin layout). I'd reset all your connectors, and do a search, there is a way to reset the entire unit. Something about shorting out some pins. What year do you have, and it has xm and no navi right?
