Putting iSimple in my car

Hey guys,

Ive wanted to make listening to my ipod in my car easier to control. My friend told me I should use iSimple. I have a 2008 Acura TL and I would like to know if it is worth putting in my car and what the cost is.

If you are talking about putting in a pxamg I had one in my last car and it was great.

Definitely hit up search on this site, plenty of people have purchased an iSimple. I enjoyed having mine but definitely get it professionally installed.

I too have one in mine.

It's a little buggy at times. I have to reset my iPod often for it to recognize it. But, I've tried one other iPod adapter, and it absolutely sucked. iSimple is the best option.

When using it, do you still have to plug a aux cord into the phone/ipod? Or is it like bluetooth?

Like Bluetooth...?

No.

Your iPod will be plugged into the iSimple with a standard Apple style cable.

You're also given a secondary AUX input. Some people use it for their phone, for a bluetooth gateway, video source, etc.

Plus with an 08. Or at least with my 07 TL type S I was able to plug the unit in the trunk by the sat/nav so I didn't have to tear apart my dash to install.

The 08 with nav might be the same way.

I am still using my isimple and while sometimes its slow and bothersome. It has been an excellent way to get radio controls over my ipod.

AUX adapter (like iSimple) + Bluetooth gateway = Bluetooth'd music from your iPhone.

Sauceja, where did you plug the isimple in by the sat/nav in the trunk? Did you run the aux/apple connection up to the console from there?

I'd like to know this too. I want to use the iSimple unit with my '08 Type S but don't want to tear apart the dash / foot well parts yet since I just bought the car and would feel more comfortable putting it in the trunk and running a cable to the center console.
