Polk C400.4 amp sensitive enough without anything else?

Hey you experts,

We just got a 2004 TL, and I must say I'm not impressed by the factory audio system sound quality. So I plan on replacing the speakers and amps. I've read enough to know that for this car it's not the simplest thing in the world.

I've read about the stock amp. I've also read (sometimes conflicting) reports that the head unit puts out such low voltage signal that aftermarket amps can't really use it without boosting it with a "preamp amp".

I'm wonder if the Polk C400.4 would work OK without any extra components. Polk specifically advertises that it's sensitive enough to work with "older head units".

Looking at it's specs, they say it has an adjustable sensitivity range of 200mV to 8V. Input impeadance is >10Kohms.

What do you guys think?
