Pioneer Avic-X1 looks awesome.

Wondering if this would fit on a non navi 04 tl...Kenwood als has something similar with 5.1 audio--Ive seen the prices on the avic as low as 1300--with voice control. ..not sure on the kenwood.
I saw the pioneer at a car shop and it looked amazing...it can
do navi, play dvd's, has rear camera, plays mp3's, it also has aux in. Pretty sweet.

wow very nice i think this beats the alpine unit i use to have. this is truely an all in one. i am curious about the DVD playback. does that mean you take the Nav DVD out and lose the nav capabilties? that would suck cause if you were using the dvd playback and still wanted nav it would not be possible unless you install a separate dvd video source. i personally think that nav should always be on no matter what and not have to switch between it and dvd video disc. also what is the price on this thing? the alpine was like 1200 bucks for the screen and another 2G's for the nav. i would imagine this to be similar in price probably around 2500 or so. but at that price i am glad i got the acura nav in my TL. it doesn't have dvd playback but lots of integration with the rest of the car.

oops didn't see that you saw the avic for 1300, i dun think you can get it for that price. there is just no way that they can price an item like that so much cheaper than another competitor(alpine in this case). first off the avic is europe only right now so i think you saw the price for 1300 pounds which comes out to 2,388.10 as of today which would be alot closer priced to what alpine is selling theirs at. even the kenwood is priced at 2G just for the unit without nav features.

actually..

no i got the price from a supplier off the acura cl messageboard. It seems legit. The MSRP on this item is 1999..he was quoting 1380.
and it does have USA roads. Also from what those guys say the nav will still work without disc unless you plan a new long trip. Perhaps a built in mini HD...not sure. Seems awesome though.

if it retailed for 1999 that is a great deal already considering the price you will pay for other units. but at 1380 its a steal, i have not had experience with pioneer nav units but if its decent this unit looks like a great deal.

How about something that will be a little better integrated into the dash:
