Passenger Door Thinks it is Open
Hello,
My 2004 TL thinks the rear passenger is open. I have swapped the switches and checked them for continuity. I have taken them out completely (just to see what happens). Yesterday the battery died because the interior lights were on. Of course, the car will not lock because it thinks the door is open. This morning the door indicated open and the interior lights were on, but went out after 1 minute. Got to work and everything was working fine, no door open indication, car locks, and no interior lights. (Still disconnected battery because I want to get home tonight) ;>)
Any suggestions or wiring diagrams available.
Thanks,

That's happened to me before after I took the door panel off. Make sure the door panel is secure and all the connections behind the panel (that go into the panel) are tight. Since you didn't touch the door panel, could just be a small little thing since the battery died. If it keeps up, remove the panel and make sure everything is good behind it.

Dude, I had the same thing (very similar with a civic. Though) it turned out it is the latch. Well the meyal part that attaches to the car, where the door latch catches on. It was a little loose. Sometimes if it is even a little loose it won't catch and it will go off an on. If it is loose, just screw it in more, and check it. .if I am wrong, then you lose nothing just by checking it. Good luck. Let me know if it fixes it.

It was funny cause when it first started happening, I'd close the door and put my alarm on and if a door wasn't closed fully, the alarm would chirp and wouldn't lock the doors, and I'd he like "what the hell?!!". It almost felt like there was someone hiding near by, just waiting for me to start walking away and would press a button that would deactivate my alarm. It was very random and frustrating cause I had no idea what it could be. Right away I thought it was electrical and was gonna cost me. Then it turned out to be a simple as as a loose screw. Again. Good luck, hope it's an easy fix.
