OEM sub/amp wattage?

What wattage is the oem amp putting out to the sub channel? I've done a few searches, and found a few different (conflicting) numbers. Does anybody know for sure what the output is?

My David Navone LOC just died, and he thinks that it may have received too high of an input voltage...the N-85V can handle up to 60 watts normally.

Thanks in advance.

What are the numbers you've found?

Maybe you should look again in the 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ.

Yeah, I've read through all of that. I've read where the oem sub is rated at 40w, and where people are speculating that the oem amp is pushing 100w. Unfortunately though, I have not read any definitive specs on the .1 channel.

Anyone, anyone?

Yeah it is funny that ACURA claims that the TL has total of 240W audio system, but if we sum up the watts of everything, then it is only about 140 I guess.

20(6.5" speaker ) x 4 = 80 (tweeters are included since they are together right?)
Subwoofer = 40
center = 20

any idea?

Unfortunately, I don't have an ammeter, otherwise I could figure it out. All you need to do is read volts and amps, and you can calculate watts (W=V*A).

I'm thinking that it's 60+ to the sub...my LOC got fried after two months, and it was rated to 60 watts. I don't know why it waited 2 months to die, but it did.

It's hard to believe that after several years with the same system, nobody has definitive numbers on the output of the OEM amp.
