OEM CD player not working

I have a 2004 TL A-Spec non-navi. I had the care stored for the last few months while rebuilding the motor. I have it up and running now, entered the factory radio code that was in my owners manual.

The AM/FM radio works, but the CD player doesn't. When I hit the CD button, nothing happens. It shows that I have 6 CD's loaded in there (which I know I do) but I can't figure out what's going on.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

i had the same problem and took it into the dealer they stated that some mechanism went bad. i have the acura extended warranty so it doesn't cover replacement. the dealer said they send the unit out and it gets rebuilt and it would take about 3 weeks to do this.

Same thing happened to MAC TL. I actually took the radio apart to see inside. couldn't really find anything. We took it over to a tech and he said the mechanism that reads what CD is where is bad. We cant read the Cd, eject the CD, and when we press the CD button, it doesn't even go to the screen. In search for a new radio as all this info is from yesterday and today....

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah, I'm not a fan of dealerships. Last year when I blew my motor and took it to my dealership for diagnostics, they took all the plastic pieces that cover the engine bay area and say that I never had it on there to begin w/.

I don't use the CD player much. Just iPod. But still, it's a nice option. I guess I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Weird because before I stored the car last OCT, it was working just fine. Thanks again.

Thumbs up

This is an extremely common problem, I went through this last year. I just bought a new audio and head unit and installed it myself, cost about $250. You can easily find one of these on eBay or even here on AZ.
