Nokia 6230 - Manual Connect? vs. Motorola V505

I've seen other folks post that the 6230 requires a manual connect every time you get in the car. Can someone please tell me what that means?

I need to get a new phone and I currently have Sprint. I called Sprint yesterday and the new LG PM-325 won't be out until mid-November according to them. So I am switching to either Cingular or AT&T. With Cingular I can get the Nokia 6230. With AT&T I can get the Motorola V505. Any suggestions?

I use the 505 it works pretty good so far. I jump in the car and I'm good to go. I dont have to hit anything on my phone it stays in my pocket the whole time

The Nokia 6230 BT has a security setting, where you authorization is reqired when ever another paired bluetooth device is trying to connect to you, it can be anything, such as the TL, headset, computer sync, etc.

It can get really annoying, BUT IT CAN BE TURNED OFF! Just go in to your Bluetooth settings , under paired device, highlight the device you want to trust, hit options, and set "Auto-conn. without confirmation" to YES. After you do that, the connection will establish without your intervention.

My Nokia 6230 is working out perfect in the car. I can leave it in my pocket, in my gym bag, and be able to use the 6230 without even touching it. Sound quality is great too.

Doesn't matter if you go with Cingular or At&t...as of this coming monday, the courts will finalize all the paperwork and they cingular and at&t wireless will be one company. Currently, AT&T stores have the eye candy phones and an edge on services...but after 6 months (the transition period), both companies will be one happy family.
