hey i dont know if anyone ever asked this question. but i really dont need a navi. i have a aftermarket radio installed on the bottom which looks out of place.. so i wanna get the navigation center console so it has screen but was wondering if i can just plug and play for the screen to work and all its options also with the heating and cooling buttons to work.. please if anyone knows if its possible and easy to do .

Nope, the navigation drive is required for the screen to show anything. In fact, when I unplug my DVD drive, my top display won't show anything either, although the radio and climate control buttons will still work.

Maybe you could just get the bezel and sub screen. Then put a tablet behind the navi bezel. Looks and function. Not sure if you need the DVD drive for the sub screen to work.

I have heard of a few people finding the navi console plastic online or taking it out of totaled cars. If you can get the console then you can just put in your own screen where you can plug in anything you want: DVD, carpc etc. Take a look at my post here and it may get you thinking. Going from a non-nav to oem nav (screen wont work without the NAV computer in the trunk $$$) would be alot more expensive than just buying the console and putting a different screen in...sounds like that is what you want anyways.
