No bluetooth controls on steering
Hi !
I'm currently buying a canadian 2004 TL Base and it has no bluetooth controls on the steering. I would like to know if it's possible to add the buttons on the steering or if I have to buy a new steering. I would like to know witch component is resposible of the bluetooth communication... is it the radio, the display or the sub-display. I'm considering a Navi conversion (I got a good deal on the car that's why I'm buying it with no navi)
Thank you !
Will

If you want Navi and bluetooth, do NOT get that car!!
Consider another TL if you want Bluetooth. I think only some Canadian TLs did not have Bluetooth in their first year, and I have not seen any threads on trying to convert a non-HFL car. Easiest solution is to get a Bluetooth headset.
Also, it is incredibly expensive to convert a non-Navi to a Navi ($1500 on parts alone), according to several threads here on AZ. You're better off buying a GPS unit like a Garmin, Magellin, etc.
Welcome to AZ, and good luck on the car hunt!

Ok I really got a good deal on the car and the owner is a friend of mine (a 52 years old man that ALWAYS went to the dealer for anything... even installing the starter and alarm...) I know everything about that car and I have a few extra that come with it (a second set of mag wheels with 4 winter tires, an Acura extended warranty, etc...) that's why I want that car. For now, I just want to add the bluetooth capability... next year I will probably install the navi.
I would like to know if it's possible to add the bluetooth switchs on the steering if there's NO switch or I have to buy a steering on ebay and sell mine. Also, I would like to know if I need to change the harness/wiring. And, finally, I would like to know if I need to swap the display and/or the sub-display... and do I need something else. Considering that I'm selling the part I have to buy the new ones, that should not be that expensive.
