Newbie Speaker Question

Newbie Speaker Question
I've browsed a number of threads on the subject but I'm still having trouble deciding which ones to go with.
I'm leaning towards two options.
1. Polk Audio DB5251 5.25" Components for the front and Polk Audio DB651s 6.5" for the rear.
2. JBL GTO638 6.5" 3-Way for the front and JBL GTO628 6.5" 2-Way for the rear.
Any thoughts? The Polk Audio are 4 ohm speakers where the JBL are 2 ohms.
I'm not looking to amplify these speakers. I just want better clarity. I do have a small amp/subwoofer combo in the trunk so I'm not worried about bass.
Thanks in advance!

May the gurus correct me if I'm wrong, but:
1) Components >> 3-way
2) If you're not using an aftermarket amp, you don't need (and should not use) passive crossovers because the OEM amp has an active crossover. That said, you could pick up some better mids and tweets if you buy them individually since you're not paying for a crossover network.
3) Pretty sure OEM speakers have a 2 ohm impedance, so you'll want to match that if you're using factory amp.

No 2 ways in the rear, only one set of tweeters please!
If your not going to amp anything then go with the 2ohm for sure, but really I wouldnt bother as the OEM amp cannot drive anything decently.
Your upgraded bass is going to overpower anything with the OEM amp driving it.

Aftermarket components are practically useless when run on the stock amp. You're not going to find too many 2 ohm speakers with the efficiency of the stock speakers so you'll end up with something that won't go as loud as stock and it will lose dynamics.
If I could only do one or the other I would amp the stock speakers. It improves clarity and obviously gives some additional spl.
No matter what you decide there's no way in hell I would upgrade the center or rears. Stock is more than good enough in the rear. I no longer use them but I never upgraded my stock rears. I ran them off of 75w per channel for a few years before I learned to drop the rear fill. Stock speakers will get plenty loud as long as you keep the highpass reasonable like 100-120hz.
I hate to say it but Infinity components are about the only legit choice for the stock amp. They are very bright and bordering on harsh even on the stock amp. Put some real power to them and they're extremely harsh. They will give a little additional clarity and will get at least as loud as stock but make sure you like a bright system because the tweeters are going to get your attention.
As it was said, only one pair of tweeters. Keep them in the dash. No coaxials in the doors. No tweeters in the rear. Just a woofer in the doors and rear and one set of tweeters in the dash.
