yes its do-able. you have to get "high to lows" two of them ( sorry no picture)
but try to visualize a rectangular box about 1" X 3" one side speaker wires the other RCA's
you need two of them one for your highs and the other for the bass.. hence the term high to low
im in NYC and thats what we call them here. im sure they have a technical term for it. but anyone in NYC who knows about music knows it as high to low

I did this to my 05 TL Navi. I started here https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/questions-adding-sub-amp-120614/
It has a link for the wiring diagrams you'll need.
I used two Navone LOC's (Line Out Converters) to convert the stock high wattage outputs to low wattage inputs to my amps. I used one for the speakers and one for the sub. Your amp may have a high wattage input option and you may not need the LOCs.
I had someone install the door speakers and tweets for me but I did the rest. It's a big project but well worth it IF you listen to uncompressed music most of the time (CDs). XM and MP3s are compressed and I doubt you'd be able to hear a difference with your upgrades.
Good luck!

If you're just doing subs then take the wire from the stock sub and run it through a LOC and then RCA cables into your amp. That way it's not a big job. You won't have to take out the rear deck.
