After years of using the 05 navi disc I upgraded to a new 3.A0 version. Problems I am having is the disc is not recognizing local streets, and the voice prompter would take a couple of minutes before it would give directions.

I called Acura Customer Care, tech tells me it may take a couple of days for the system to re-calibrate (WTF!!) Has anyone else had this issue? Your suggestion is greatly welcome

Last time I upgraded my disc I had to drive about a mile before it recognized which road I was on—it had me going off in the wrong direction roughly 180 degrees opposite the way I was actually going (it had me going directly through a bunch of our neighbors' houses). It straightened out quickly enough. Don't recall about the voice prompts.

Same thing happened to me last month when we took the Auto Train back from Florida: We were about two miles up I-95 in Virginia before it realized we were no longer in Sanford, Florida.

I think if for some reason the system is reset or the car is moved a long way while it's turned off the system just takes a little while to re-establish its communications with the satellites and download updated location info.

I spoke with the company that provides these disc and they want to say it might be my navi unit and for me to take it to the dealer rather than "hey send it back and we will replace it".....gonna take it out and re-install.
