New Motorola Vxxx Firmware

TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R

http://www.unlocker.ru/TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R.rar

The archive contains two files, to upgrade you need only TRIPLETS_G_0B.09.45R_reflash.shx

huh?

For the non tech people ... huh? Will the new 9.45 fix the HFL problems? If so, I live in Dallas. What would you charge?

Apparently, this build or .53 will take care of the HFL problems. I do not know the specifics but I'm sure pedalermike(sp) will know more about it. Unfortunately, I don't have the cables for motorolas anymore.

What software do we need?

I have a motorola cable and am experiencing the "open clam shell" issue. Is there any free software that I can use to update to this latest firmware rev?

Here are a few links as I was researching how to update my V600. These include the Motorola PST software to flash the phone and the drivers you will need.

http://www.silverspecter.com/vxxx.htm
http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...hreadid=394508
http://www.mob453.com/phones/motorola_v600/
http://s87445123.onlinehome.us/triplets/
http://forums.attwireless.com/attws/...ssage.id=23499

But you will still need the cable. Before anyone asks, no you can't do a firmware upgrade using bluetooth, you have to use the cable.

If i purchased a new v-600 throught cingular, would this firmware already be installed. ie. I wil go to a very small cingular store and they have no old v-600 sitting around. this guy has to order everything(takes a week). That way I would probably be getting one with this new firmware installed. If not, how hard is it to transfer this to the phone, once it is downloaded. Will this firmware enable and disable your blue tooth when you leave the car? I think that is the problem with the short battery life as I read these threads. It's a hassle to turn off & on blue tooth on the phone each time and if you don't the blue tooth stays on when you don't need it,( in my case 90 % of the time) and then in a day your battery needs recharging.

Buy yourself a data connectivity cable off ebay or radio shack for $10 to $15 and then download the pst software from MotClub and patch your v600 yourself in about 30 minutes. The .45R software contains the patch for the hfl timing problem!! Works rock solid.

Anyone trying this alone be forewarned that if it goes wrong and your phone turns into a brick, Motorola won't honor the warranty since the pst software is factory level stuff and its assumed you know what you are doing. I've reflashed my phone a dozen times without a hitch. The instructions are very simple and there isn't a lot that can go wrong but you never know.

Pedalermike: Link to .45 PLEASE!

I looked around motclub and couldn't find the .45 fix. Can you please post a link to the download.

Also you said it fixed the HFL timing issue. Does this mean the closed clam issue?

Thanks!!!!!

TXTL,

You can dl the pst software from motclub. Unfortunately I don't have the .45R load but Mobilzen posted the links above that will get you the s/w you need. Yes, anything higher than .45R will cure the open clam/closed clam issue with the v600. Yahoo!

Can we just take the phone to an ATTWS store and have them flash it? Do you think there will be a charge for the flash or will it be like a warranty service?

Here's an alternative I found, but they're slower than Jessica Simpson counting her change:

Of course, Cingular has no clue about this. Motorola Software Support told me the new firmware is not yet available! He said they're working on it and it should be available soon.

^ Jessica Simpson used to be real sharp. My friend went to highscool with her and one of his friends dated her. I guess that's what happens when you get famous and have everyone do work for you, then you end up just being a puppet. Anyway... I'm going to save this file in case anyone needs it.

^ No provider will have any clue what you're talking about. They are trained for their specific duties. i.e. customer care takes care of customers accounts, data support does data, retail stores sell. Once they have their version available, should be 45R or 53R, you will be able to download it from the site. More than likely they will require you to use their software and cable to upload the new information on there. After that, you'll be ok.

Okay guys, I'm having problems here.. I finally got the right USB cable (do NOT buy the one they sell at Fry's), and I can't get the USB driver to see the phone. When I plug the phone in, I get a "new hardware found" message, and then I try and point to the P2K driver I got from Motclub, and the thing will just sit there indefinitely trying to initialize. What P2K driver did you folks use?

Aquineas,

The link that you posted takes more than 2 hrs to download the .45.rar file. Is there anysite that will allow a quicker download?

And what are the steps to perform this update on the phone...

I know of know other sites, sorry... This link has step-by-step instructions on how to apply the fix, with the following caveat. The driver files linked in the above link didn't work for me. I had to get the drivers from here. You will also need a motorola data cable, which I got from here.

On a tangent, they have a bunch of accessories for the V600 here.

Aquineas,
Thanks for the links. Got the instruction very detailed. Only thing is that the link for the 45R flash does not work.

Anyone know where the 45R Flash is available for the V600??

Hitting a brick wall

When I go to put the phone into flash mode by clicking on device or start, the V600 automatically powers down and the application crashes. How do you keep the V600 from powering down? Does the V600 need to be unlocked? I believe it's locked to the Cingular network.

No bro, it's not a Cingular network thing, because I too have Cingular and I got mine working. I didn't have to manually put it into flash mode, the flash software did that for me. Are you trying to manually put it into flash mode? I did have the phone clamshell open when I was flashing, not that this made any difference...

Maybe your battery is too low for the process???

Also, what exactly does this flash version fix? The only problem I have is that the battery life sucks while linked with the HFL. I have no other problems except maybe the delayed connection when a call comes in. No problems with the clam sheel being closed.

Hmm.. I have no idea what's going on then, other than to check your battery life. What version of the PST driver are you using? I had to use the version I got from the Spanish website (the one I linked to earlier), and I believe that version was 2.3... not sure that helps. I'm in Austin if you happen to be close and want to try it with my laptop.

I am having the same issue. I am using PST version 6.7 and the also applied the patch and the p2kman. I got these from www.mob453/phones/motorola_v600 and the detailed instructions and follwed them to the letter. The program just crashes as soon as I click on the "Start" button.

I am running Win XP pro on a Dell laptop.

Does the phone have to be unlocked for the flash to work?

That's what TLTX was asking. I have no idea. I don't even know how to unlock the phone. I just ran the software, and it worked fine. Sorry I can't be of more help.

The only thing this fixed for me was the open/close issue. Battery life still sucks with bluetooth on and I still have the delay.

For those of you haven't problems with flashing your V600 and pst crashing, try going to this link:

http://www.mob453.com/phones/motorola_v600/

If you have already been there and still having problems. I have been told to uninstall PST and reinstall version 6.3.1 to resolve the crashing issue. To my knowledge, the phone does not need to be unlocked.

I successfully flashed my V600 with the 45R version using PST 6.3 from www.motclub.com. Still need to test the phone with the HFL. Thanks mobilezen for the help and tips.

Mine worked!

I flashed mine a week or so ago and it seems to be working great. The only "annoyance" is that when receiving an incoming call, my phone now rings a half second before the HFL rings. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Mine does the same. Its a bit annoying but the advantage is that when a text message comes in, the phone nows goes beep which it didn't do before.

cullal,

does flashing the V600 un-brand the phone? what i mean is i have a t-mobile branded V600 and would like to flash to the 45R firmware, but dont want to un-brand my phone, since all the t-mo settings would be erased.

thanks.

Please excuse my ignorance here (it's my first programmable Motorola Phone), but this thread is marked Vxxx Firmware. Does this mean that the 45R software is usable with my new V710? I sure couldn't find anything like TRIPLETS_... in my Software Information screens.

Not sure about that. The phone still says AT&T after I flashed. Why dont you check with mobilezen on this forum....
Another resource to check would be www.howardforums.com

Could someone help me. I followed the instructions on that website about flashing/flexing the V600.

When I run the MultiFlashFlex program, it doesn't list my phone under devices. Any ideas?

Thanks,
