New iSimple, connection, text, but no sound!
On my 07 non navi, with navi, everything looks like it's working. I get text, can browse through my phone on the nav screen (iPhone 4 with 4.0.1), see the track time advancing, it charges, it says a device is connected but no sound at all. All other features work (radio and CDs play). I updated the firmware too with no change. I also tried an iPod which had no text or sound. Any ideas? I'm going to call tech support once I get to work in the morning.

Was this installed behind the radio or in the trunk? It needs to be installed at the radio and not in the trunk on your model. Also please try resetting the iPhone/iTouch and see if that takes care of the issue.

I just assumed it was to be installed in the trunk. I thought 04-06 was up front. So there's a connector behind the radio that is exactly the same as the one in the trunk? It's not easy to take that dash apart. And why would it kind of work in the trunk? That's just weird. Thanks for your help, I'll work on it and report back.

Ok, I see the same type of connector on the back of an 08 deck. It's the the white one (bottom right). So I have to pull my deck out, and plug that sucker in. I hope it works, because that's a big job (prob do it tonight).

Ok, I got it to work. I just needed to plug it into the head unit. I'm posting just for other member's future reference. I thought only 04 - 06 plugged into the HU.
I did not have to take apart the whole dash or even remove the head unit. I know there is a way to do this without taking anything apart, but I had to pull my sub screen off anyway, so I opted to pull the dash apart. Once I got the center cover off (the one by the driver's knee, I could reach the connector.
Remember, this is for an 07 non-navi. My navi conversion did not include xm traffic module in the trunk. I bought the non-navi iSimple. Here is a pic of the iSimple mounted above the accelerator. I can still reach the connectors and the USB jack in case I need to do an update. I also had to plug the iPhone into the 2nd port, not the first the instructions specifically state.
I ran the wire to the center console:
Now I can listen to up to date pod casts on my way to work!
