Some progress ... Couple more days until it's done. A problem that the shop ran into is that the heat sinks are so big you have to cut part of the radiator frame, so he has to add an extra support weld it in and paint it so it is just as safe and looks good. Few extra bucks, but safety is my number one concern!
Here's a picture to update you guys

Hey guys here's an update from the other day as well as some ideas I have ran across with the shop as far as wiring the DRLs. Interested in what you guys think!
Okay, here is the best photo I can find showing the jewel eye functions. This is off a TLX but it operated exactly the same as the MDX. Top left=off top right= DRL bottom left=low beams bottom right=high beams
I thought it would look much better if the DRLs stayed on with the low beams. On every model they turn off, so I photoshopped in on the TLX jewel eyes to get a feel for how it would look.
I photoshopped it again on this TLX. I know it's not the perfect photoshop, but it gives you an idea of how it would look. Now would be the perfect time to rewire the DRLs with the whole front end off the car and my guy is going to try to do it once he gets both sides in. <br/><br/>Let me know what you guys think!
Here is my car with the second side on, ready for the housing to be blacked out then it should be completed!

Unfortunately, Consumer Reports DOESN'T. Their tests on the TLX/RLX/MDX indicate that those lights are just for 'show' and do not improve night visibility over the older HID's, which is just what they're supposed to do.

2nd Guessing
Well I have been doing research on the retrofit mdx eye jewel for my 06 acura tl. I found STC Audio and Performance out of Georgia everything will cost $1800 give or take $100 he also said you will have a dark spot in the middle of your view so light performance is not great. So it depends on you I guess Function over form or form over function which one are you?

ie; not too many people are showing their builds on acurazine. but if you browse instagram, there are tons of people doing it.
it's the same concept for the RL...take new head lights and smash them together with the old head lights...building the rear out for the heatsink. takes patience and time.

The very last time my TL went to the dealership for work to be performed, I was given a loaner with those LED's for headlights and they were/are considerably brighter than my '05 TL HID's!
