In need of a recommendation

Good afternoon -

Christmas is around the corner and it's time to start searching for those gifts. My mother has a 2004 Acura TL and requested an automatic starter as her gift of choice this year. She lives in the ever so chilly New York and is tired of the leather freezing her a** off during the winter months. She wants to be able to start the car up from inside the house.

Any recommendations? What am I looking at cost wise (of the starter itself, not labor)? I am going to have our mechanic install it for her rather than go through the Stealership.

Thanks,
Sara

go to a brand called AutoPage it is the best 2 way pager/remote start company that i know of. or honestly Viper alarms makes a good remote start alarm system. i bought my auto page for $800 installed. you can get a non-pager style for roughly $300 these days also for a decent one.

Auto Page is the cheaper "wholesale" brand of DEI products. DEI is the parent company of VIPER, Python, CLIFFORD etc. The Viper, Python and Clifford are far batter products and quite a bit easier to find. Most car audio stores offer Auto Page as a "dealership only" brand to meet a low price point.

Very true, i am in the business, and he is absalutley right. i would go with the Avitel, clifford or viper, DEI product has best warrantee as well. for your TL you will need what is called a 556uw, this allows the car to start without a key being in the ingition, but you will have to insall a spare key into this unit and it get stashed under the dash. gotta love coded keys, thats the only way to get an aftermarket remote starter for a TL.
