Need help on choosing a path for adding a sub

I'm very unexperienced and new to the audio world, but I spent the last week or so researching threads and posts on here by most of the big name audiophiles and have PM'd people for details as well.
i am nowhere close to having the audio knowledge some of you have but i've narrowed down my additions to the following and wanted to get any helpful input or thoughts on the options below

Goal - I do not play music loud but just want to add more all-around improvement and fill, but especially the low end.

Goal - I'm looking to have as few modifications as possible to my car to get the items installed and am looking for minimal cost.

Music - i listen to all types of music ranging from reggae rock to rock to some rap, and sometimes electronic.

Space - want to put an amp under a seat (is driver side or passenger side better?) and a corner enclosure in the trunk to maximize trunk space but I don't want to go IB

Current setup - stock Type S setup with dynamat on the front doors and the rear deck, which made a good improvement and reduced rattles

Option A, just adds mono amp and sub:

Amp - Rockford Fosgate R250X1 (250W at 2 ohms)
Sub - Rockford Fosgate R2D2-10" (250W, DVC wired for 2 ohms)
Enclosure - Uncald4 or similar corner sub (minimal impact to trunk)
cost - $140 total plus enclosure plus wiring

Option B, adds sub and adds power to front stock components:
Amp - MB Quart OA11005 (5 channels, 150W at 2 ohms, sub 500W at 2 ohms) - i saw this recommended as a good budget 5 channel on DIYMA
Sub - Rockford Fosgate R2D2-10" (250W, DVC wired for 2 ohms)
Enclosure - Uncald4 or similar corner sub (minimal impact to trunk)
cost - $190 total plus enclosure plus wiring

for a wiring kit, is a 4 ga stinger wiring kit recommended?
is there anything else i would need to buy for installation?

thanks for reading and i apologize for my lack of knowledge on the subject, i've been trying to read up but man, some of you are super hardcore on this stuff and i was so lost haha

You may want to look at my thread on my build "mild grade fever". i'm using a five channel amp underneath my driver seat I'm not sure that the amp in your scheme B will fit? I'm also in San Diego if you want to take a look at my set up. Why do you not want to go infinite baffle?

^^ thabks I've actually read your thread from front to back but it sometimes went into detail that was over my head. I need to reread it again now that I understand more.

I didn't want to mess with an IB because I think that involves more work than putting in a corner enclosure and doesn't look as clean but I'll look more into it. Do I have to keep the arm rest down the whole time? I agree that second amp option might not fit I haven't taken actual measurements but am also willing to mount it under the rear deck if it's not too much work. I'll look up what amp you're using

I was thinking of going to the sd meet to hopefully check out your system. Where are you at specifically? I'm in UTC

We are meeting on the 24th. I am in South Park
No need to keep armrest down. Are you doing the work? Custom corner box is expensive. The off the shelf ones i have seen are to small typically for the sub

Trying to do most of the install myself except the enclosure. There is a guy in Georgia that does these corner boxes for 250 shipped and it meets the min volume of .59 cubic ft for this cheap sub

Any recommendations on wiring kits? I hope I can make that meet and at least talk to some local car guys, my wife has no idea when I talk to her about car stuff haha

Thats not much volume. For wiring I like Knukonceptz. You get what you pay for.

Anyone have thoughts on infinity 1062w vs Rockford fosgate r2d4-10 for the sub? Infinity is about 20 bucks more

Also the min box specs are .75 and .59 respectively, would they both be ok running in a box at 1 cu ft? The shop I'm working with has a corner mold for our car that is about 1 cu ft

Is a used JL W6 an option? I've been very happy with mine, and at the time they seemed to be easiest to find used on DIYMA.

Haha, if I find my sub and amp ripped out one day, I'll know where to look!

I've been very happy with both those things, so I'm sure you would be too. I found my XD 500/3 on ebay actually I think.

ok got some of my path picked out:

amp - JL XD500/3 - $200 (purchased)
sub - leaning towards 10" Infinity 1062w ($60) over the Rockford Punch R2D4-10 ($90)
enclosure - trunk corner built to .80 cu ft, sub recommends .75 cu ft - $220
front components - leaning towards JBL GTO608C components - $85
wiring kit - NVX XAPK4 - $60

i spent a lot of time looking up components this week and want something that has minimal mods to make it fit into the oem location in the doors, and kept coming across these JBL ones (i also saw infinity a lot but kept reading about their harsh highs). they run at 75W RMS so i should be fine since the amp can push 100W RMS to the fronts
