Navigation Unit: "Check Disk" error
Hello Gentlemen
I got myself an '06 Acura TL last Friday. (My old 1991 Accord has 282K miles and still running good )
Anyhow the seller didn't know the codes so that I have to contact the dealer.
Before I even do that, the navi unit has a problem.
It will attempt to load the software "Loading software...", then it stop with "Check Disk" error.
I took the DVD onto my computer, and I could copy the whole DVD onto my computer. Less likely the problem is with the DVD, most likely with the trunk DVD unit.
Any input? Thanks

1) Clean the DVD. Then load it back into the drive to see if it loads and if the Navi works.
If it does, ignore the rest of this post.
2) What version # is your disk?
It should be an orange-colored disk.
3) Do you know if the Navi was hacked/had software modified? (A hacked Navi can sometimes be fixed by putting in an updated disk.)
4) If the DVD drive is bad, it can be removed and sent to Alpine for repair-- less than $200.
Welcome to AZ.

Version 3.5 year 2005 I know it is old but at least I need to know it is the disk or DVD reader.
I called that Alpine in Torrance. They asked for $170 now
